Construct Consolidated Training Facility, Hickam Air Force Base, Island of Oahu, Hawaii

  • Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Contract Amount: $6,643,000

The new Consolidated Training Facility constructed under this project is a two-story building, which supports the 624th Regional Support Group for the Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Air Force Reserve Command. The construction of this 10,850-square-foot structure included various command offices, conference and training rooms, medical staff and readiness rooms, and a Consolidated Skills Laboratory. Other special features of the project included concrete pile foundations to mitigate differential settlement and a sewer lift station. Besides having to perform dewatering for all the new utilities due to the shallow water table, other challenges included the installation of new fiber optic lines across an active airport runway.
