FY05 PN KNMD043007 C-17 Alter Maintenance Supply Areas, Hickam Air Force Base, Island of Oahu, Hawaii

  • Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Contract Amount: $11,525,000

This construction project included extensive renovation work in three individual aircraft hangars that support both the operations and maintenance of the home based C-17 aircrafts. The shops within the project scope consisted of: Metals, Survival, Wheel and Tire, Propulsion, Avionics, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and the Aircraft Parts Store. Additional facilities included other administration offices and a parachute tower. One of the main challenges of the project included the requirement to keep the facilities operational throughout the duration, which obligated the work to be phased around the occupying users. The result was the need for constant coordination, elevated safety protocols, and increased housekeeping practices required when working near active aircraft.

Due to the success of the project, Nan, Inc. was presented with an Award of Excellence by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
