Nan, Inc. is proudly in receipt of a $59.5M award for a P935 Electrical Distribution System Modernization project located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. This project is being executed as a task order under Nan, Inc.’s NAVFAC Hawaii DB/DBB MACC contract.
The work includes replacing Primary Substation 3 at Building 5033 and the Main Switching Station at Building 5092. Specifically, this work will provide new switchgear, revenue grade power quality meters, Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) multifunctional protective relays, full capacity buses and bus ties, batteries, spares and any other ancillary or supporting work, as well as provide a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The scope of work will also include providing various primary vacuum switches and associated concrete pad, ducts and cable connections throughout MCBH to provide loop capability for balancing loads, minimizing power outages and to facilitate replacement of failing switchgear. Existing feeder and tie circuits will also be upgraded to increase capacity, provide reliability and prevent cable faults. Furthermore, this project will relocate existing primary distribution circuits and associated equipment from overhead to underground at MCBH. This includes providing new underground ductlines, manholes, handholes, pad mounted transformers and switches, and removing the existing poles, overhead lines and overhead transformers.
