Nan, Inc. was honored to welcome U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono to the P-956 & P-973 Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) project at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) in Kaneohe. The visit included Col. Jeremy W. Beaven, U.S. Marine Corps, MCBH Base Commander, and LCDR Karl Coulson, NAVFAC Hawaii’s Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division (FEAD) Director.
The $174.6 million design-build military construction project, delivered under a NAVFAC Hawaii Design-Build/Design-Bid-Build Multiple Award Construction Contract (DB/DBB MACC), is being executed by Nan, Inc. as the prime contractor. Project leadership reported that Phase 1 abatement and demolition activities have been successfully completed, along with deep foundation work for the BEQ facilities. The project is now actively progressing through the cast-in-place concrete structure and is currently under construction on the second floor. Overall project completion stands at 26%, with the schedule tracking 18 days ahead of the Contract Completion Date.
During the visit, Senior Project Manager Sergi Beltrol briefed Senator Hirono and the leadership team on Nan, Inc.’s strong safety and performance record on military housing projects. He highlighted the successful delivery of the prior P-911 BEQ, which was completed and turned over to the Marines in 2025 with more than 425,000 man-hours worked and zero lost-time incidents. For the ongoing P-956 BEQ, the project team has already accumulated over 60,000 man-hours with no safety incidents, reinforcing Nan, Inc.’s commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence in support of our nation’s service members.
