Nan, Inc. Awarded Ewa and Diamond Head Concourse Roadway Improvements Phase 1 Project

Nan, Inc., Hawaii’s largest locally-owned construction company, has been awarded a $22 million contract for Phase 1 construction of the Ewa and Diamond Head Concourse Roadway Improvements at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, HI. The awarding agency is the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation (DOT), and will be contracted under their Airports Division.

The expected work includes replacement of the existing multiple level concourse roadway of the Ewa and Diamond Head Concourses, involving work on the 2nd and 3rd level concrete slabs, leaking expansion joint waterproofing, roadway drains, and light fixtures. The work also consists of miscellaneous demolition, including the removal of decorative trellis and demolition of concrete light pole columns along the 3rd level roadways of both concourses.

Following the notice of award, Nan, Inc. President Fooney Freestone shared, “We are pleased to have another opportunity to work with the DOT, and we are excited to be part of the State’s continuing effort to improve and modernize airports.”

Phase 1 construction of the Ewa and Diamond Head Concourse Roadway Improvements at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is projected to begin in February 2023 and is expected to be completed by January 2024.
