Farrington Highway Widening (Kapolei Golf Course to Fort Weaver Road)

Nan, Inc. has been awarded a $138 million contract from the state Department of Transportation to widen Farrington Highway from Kapolei Golf Course to Fort Weaver Road.

According to an announcement from Nan, Inc., the widening project involves the construction of drainage structures and culverts, asphalt and concrete pavements, concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks, gas lines, water and sewer lines, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscaping.

Work also includes the reconstruction of the Kaloi Stream Bridge and Honouliuli Stream Bridge, as well as the relocation of overhead and underground electrical and telecommunications infrastructure, the announcement noted.

“Nan, Inc. is incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work on such a large project to improve the flow of traffic on our island,” Vice President and Civil Division Chief Estimator Ed Shukri said in a statement. “We appreciate the DOT being proactive to ensure our infrastructure is continuously improving.”

Work is expected to begin next month and be finished by February 2026.

The full award amount totals $138,033,057.40. Bids were procured through a competitive sealed bidding process.
