Community service and support is a year-round endeavor for Nan, Inc. Beyond the bricks and mortar of construction is our spirit of giving and stewardship. Recently, our support was recognized by one of our very own local universities.
Nan, Inc. has been supporting academics for years at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with our scholarships for engineering students at the College of Engineering. Also integral to the University’s education programs is Athletics to which Nan, Inc. was tapped to participate in this year’s 50/50 Challenge.
With the founder of Nan, Inc. being an avid soccer player and fan himself, it wasn’t difficult for Nan, Inc. to supplement its support to the University and join the challenge. The UH Manoa Women’s soccer team, its supporters and fans successfully raised $50,000 to which Nan provided a $50,000 match.
The 50/50 Challenge coincided with the celebration of 50 years of the Title IX laws that provide for equal opportunity in intercollegiate athletics.
