Building 278 and Building 287 are historical 2-story buildings
that required major renovation in preparation for admirals
and their staff. The work scope of this high visibility project
included site work (demolition, excavation, trenching, backfill,
new water and electrical utilities), structural repairs and
reinforcements, construction of new concrete slabs, footings,
structural beams, concrete accessible ramps, carpentry and
casework (framing, cabinets, wood siding, sub-flooring, countertops,
doors and hardware, windows), finishes (painting, carpet,
vinyl tile, ceramic tile), mechanical work (plumbing, air
conditioning, fire sprinkler), electrical work (interior electrical
utilities, substation installation, a security system, lighting,
load centers, underground electrical service), insulation,
suspension and gypsum board ceilings, fire alarm system, landscaping,
and asbestos and lead abatement. The renovation of Building
278 and 287 also included procuring and installing furniture,
and moving the occupants back into the building after the
completion of work.
The success of this project resulted in a certificate of
superior achievement, and a letter from the commanding officer
commending Nan, Inc.’s top notch quality and customer
service
