The project scope included correcting foundation settlement, soil modifications to correct ground settlement and prevent slope failure under seismic loads, structural upgrades of the building to meet current seismic and wind requirements, termite damage repairs, repairing inadequate framing, interior renovations for a more efficient floor plan to meet user requirements, upgrade accessibility to meet UFAS standards, correct fire NFPA code violations, and repairs to the plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems of the buildings.

The success of this project resulted in the Historic Preservation Honor Award of 2004-2005 presented by the Historic Hawai’i Foundation.
